A focus on balance and movement for those living with mobility limiting conditions
Featured speaker: Dr. Michael Rogers, PhD, CSCS, FAAAJ, FACSM
Professor, Department of Human Performance Studies at WSU
Event includes a presentation on movement programs “BIG” and “PWR!” by certified Larksfield therapists.
Dr. Rogers will:
• Discuss the factors that contribute to poor balance
• Provide exercises designed specifically to improve balance in older adults with Parkinson’s disease and a variety of other chronic conditions.
Physical activity that targets the systems involved in balance control (sensory, muscular, cognitive) can improve balance, reduce falls and fractures and provide other health benefits for older adults.
