“The mission is paramount at Larksfield Place. And because it’s managed locally, they understand our needs.” - Dorothy H. Osburn, Resident Since 2006

The Larksfield Place mission - “We enrich the lives of older adults” - is lived out each day. When you meet our staff and talk with our residents, you’ll see how our five core values drive everything we do:

Integrity
: We promote trust and honesty to build relationships within our community.

Excellence: We pursue quality beyond expectations.

Accountability: We expect competency, loyalty, and personal and corporate responsibility.

Communication: We actively promote open, effective, relevant, and timely exchange of information.

Community: We are a group of people with a shared mission of enriching one another’s lives.

Larksfield’s reputation for service is one of the best in the state—perhaps because we’re a stand-alone, locally managed community, not part of a chain. The people making the decisions might be sitting next to you at dinner. Our staff takes pride in bringing resident suggestions to management. The lines of communication are always open, not on hold to an office in some far-away city.

What’s more, we’re a not-for-profit community. We don’t pay dividends to stockholders; we reinvest earnings into our mission. Not-for-profits can traditionally invest more in crucial areas, such as health care and staffing. Tammy Flaming said it best: “The bottom line here is caring for people, not caring about the bottom line.”
